The Art of Smoke

The day was long and tiring, he'd finished work and stumbled home with a yawn in his throat that wouldn't quit. Opening the door clumsily, the man who reeked of sweat, plopped on his sofa and laughed. Then reached over to the coffee table and grabbed a cigarette from a small pile. After lighting it and taking a deep inhale, he closed his eyes with a smile. "After the day I have had, this cigarette makes everything worthwhile."

He then took another long drag and let it out slowly, making rings and lines of the glorious blue smoke. He was thrilled as his decorative puffs evaporated. He then flicked the ashes into the tray while grabbing the remote and flipping the TV on. His smile turned into laughter as the news reporter condemned cigarettes as the worse possible thing in the world. The reporter turned and changed the topic to a war.

The man shrugged with a giggle, "I'd rather be smoking cigarettes than fighting in a war in some country on the other side of the world! Face it: smoking is an art form and always will be."
